This might be the band that displaces Metallica as my favorite heavy metal band! It's heavy and has social commentary, which are my two favorite things in music. flannel_bear

Pity that I could not find the deluxe edition with LoG's Laid to Rest. Nevertheless I wanted to add Elegy to my BC collection. It's unique as it is a delightful mix of symphony and deathcore. The vocals are just the perfect "5th element" that allows both styles to intertwine perfectly. Ben Duerr is the perfect vocalist for this role. The Elegy trilogy at the end is just the apotheose of death-gasm, it's a good trip down to memory lane as I've seen S.O.I. live last year! sachavonkarl74

I am more a melodeath guy than deathcore, but I enjoy all the symphonic elements or rythym changes. This album is a BLAST omg my neck hurt, so much headbang🤘🤘 olive855

The first 10 or so times I heard this album I thought it was alright. Then something clicked and it became one of my favorites - such a beautiful mix of modern metal and electronic music. Really hoping I can get Obsidian through bandcamp at some point. oracularhydra
